OSH Awards 2009
The T&T OSH Authority continues its annual National Safety Awards in 2009. The annual National Safety Presentation will be held on April 29, 2009.
The Awards aim to:
- encourage public and private workplaces throughout Trinidad and Tobago to develop,
implement and evaluate initiatives that help achieve a safer work
environment,
- share knowledge and assist the award-winning initiatives in being promoted and
adopted into workplaces,
- recognise employees and organisations for outstanding achievements in workplace safety,
In 2009 the Authority will maintain the Individual and Team awards, recognizing an individual as well as a team adjudged to have made the best contribution to safety in the workplace within the period January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008.
OSH Week 2009
This year’s National Safety Week will be celebrated from the 26th of April, 2009 to the 2nd of May, 2009. The purpose of this week will be to highlight the importance of safety in all facets of life and work in Trinidad and Tobago.
Organizations can show support by participating in different safety-related activities during the week. These activities can promote safety awareness as a priority within every workplace. Some activities you can consider include:-- Safety and health-related displays
- Short seminars
- Safety moments during meetings
- Safety Poster Contests
- Workshops
- Technical presentations
- Interactive presentations
- Improvement/enhancement workplace Safety Projects
- Exhibitions
- Dramatic skits/plays
- Short films
- Other initiatives designed to increase the level of safety awareness educational efforts.
